The Hokuriku region is ideally suited to the manufacture of synthetic textiles thanks to its natural environment, which is humid all year round, allowing for the easy regulation of temperature and humidity that is crucial to the process. KAJIF has been making synthetic fabrics in North Kanazawa for 70 years and has developed many different kinds of materials. Surely only their unrivalled knowhow could have created “Cuttable”.

KAJIF carefully considered how to add new value to synthetic textiles and developed this through a research project. By adding a twist to fibers, knitting and weaving them, then dying and treating – these processes make the possibilities for expression through fabric. The way KAJIF creates textiles in harmony with the nature of the Hokuriku region represent a harmony between tradition and innovation through which they aim to develop materials that delight and amaze.
