HERMÈS
After leading Hermès menswear for 37 years since 1988, Véronique Nichanian presented her final runway show as Artistic Director.
Throughout her tenure, Nichanian continuously pursued innovation and evolution while shaping a vision of everyday rooted luxury. That aesthetic ran consistently through this concluding collection. Classic forms focused on practicality and function were elevated through exceptional materials, including blousons crafted from full-grain leather, travel coats featuring supple textures created by cashmere and wool blends, and cashmere knitwear adorned with softly diffused floral motifs, all expressing a singular sense of elegance.
Her philosophy was also evident in the details and choice of materials. Piping, pockets, and calfskin used across overshirts and trousers introduced strength and rhythm to the collection as a whole. As a tribute to the past, the appearance of a jumpsuit first shown in the Autumn Winter 1991 season and a blouson originally presented in Autumn Winter 2004 was another highlight not to be overlooked.
Succeeding Véronique Nichanian, British designer Grace Wales Bonner has been appointed Creative Director. How she will inherit the house’s legacy while introducing new innovation remains to be seen, with great anticipation surrounding her debut next year.
