A next step set to the song “Yo ga Aketara.”
The current position of Julian Klausner as he enters his second men’s collection.
Set to “Yo ga Aketara” by Japanese blues and jazz singer Maki Asakawa, Julian Klausner presented the latest collection for Dries Van Noten. As he enters his second men’s season, this collection reflected his current position, guided by his own words: “I wanted to explore the ideas of growth and becoming an adult.” By confronting the memories and roots accumulated over time, the season focused on the process through which young people search for their own means of self expression.
The primary source of inspiration was the wardrobe of these young men. Classically tailored long pencil coats, capes and capelets reminiscent of school uniforms, and Fair Isle and cable knitwear were gathered not only from their own clothing but also from pieces passed down through family members, conveying a sense of nostalgia and warmth. Preppy elements were subtly scattered throughout everyday styling, from ties and scarves to boxing shoes and laundry bags. At the same time, the layering of textures and patterns clearly carried the house’s codes, achieving a refined balance between individual identity and the brand’s heritage.
